Reopening Ontario Step Two opens up Georgian Bay sports
Ontario has moved one step closer to opening up sports events across the province after unveiling the second phase of their ‘Reopening Ontario’ scheme on June 30th.
The second step in the three-step plan was implemented two days ahead of schedule and will limit outdoor sports to 25 participants with a 25% capacity for spectators. Outdoor fitness classes are capped at the number of people who can maintain three metres of distance.
Indoor sporting events remain closed until the third step is put in place when 70-80% of adults have had their first vaccine.
In a statement, Minister of Health Christine Elliott said: “Ontario is ready to enter Step Two of our Roadmap, allowing us to safely and gradually ease public health measures while continuing to stop the spread of COVID-19,”
“Thank you to the Ontarians who rolled up their sleeves to help us reach this exciting milestone. Every dose administered brings us one step closer to the things we’ve missed, so please sign up to receive the vaccine when it’s your turn.”
